Sparks Event Marketing is seeking qualified and professional Sales and Merchandising Representatives for a cross Canada distribution company with focus on cosmetics and medical care products. Successful candidates will possess exceptional time management, communication and presentation skills. Experience in sales and/or retail merchandising a definite plus.

 

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting in-store sales visits and/or sales calls within an assigned territory every 60 days.
  • Secure preferred product placement, planogram merchandising, signage/POS placement, and maintain shelf presence.
  • Product sell in to retail locations and taking product orders.
  • Providing exceptional in-store customer service.
  • Building regional store relationships, maintaining a good rapport and educating employees at all levels about the products/brand, generating awareness and enthusiasm.
  • Ensuring brand and products are presented in the best possible displays to attract customers and drive sales.
  • Submitting timely store call reports.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor with the public and store personnel when performing your duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Degree or equivalent experience (1+ year of retail merchandising and/or sales experience a plus.)
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, multi-task, problem solve, and self-manage/supervise a must.
  • Dependable, extroverted, diplomatic and exceptional professional work ethic.
  • Customer focused – enjoy meeting new people, learning about them and their business.
  • Strong merchandising skills with a passion to grow brands.
  • Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills
  • Excellent written, oral and listening skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems/programs.
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle (regional travel to stores in geographic area required).
  • Ability to lift packages up to 50lbs, engage in considerable physical activity.

The In-Field Event Technician is involved in the day-to-day setup of events displays and tradeshow booths which includes warehouse organization, kitting & shipping, managing inventory levels, display repairs, and in-field event setup and teardowns to support multiple event projects.  Time will be divided between office, warehouse and in-field activities.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • On-site physical setup and teardown of exhibits, tradeshow displays, signage etc. to client specifications for special events.
  • Weekly coordination and communication with a variety of stakeholders during the planning and execution of an event.
  • Inspection, inventory, and warehouse of all event assets, displays, supplies, and equipment.

    • Previous experience with logistics, exhibit/tradeshow, event displays, and shipping & receiving preferred.
    • Willing to work evenings, weekends and some travel.
    • Must be able to lift heavy objects/displays/tents etc.
    • Ability to work unpredictable hours during peak seasons

Sparks is looking for ambitious people with high energy for an at-retail demo program.

Our client is Karcher; the worldwide leader in cleaning technology. They operate with an inventive spirit to offer innovative cleaning solutions. Their products deliver top-class performance.

Because seeing is believing – you will demonstrate to consumers just how easy and effective the Karcher Power Squeegee is! Besides stellar squeegee handling skills – you need to have the ability to connect, engage and sell to the target consumer, women ages 30-60 yrs.

Demonstrations will execute at selected Canadian Tire stores across Canada and are scheduled to run weekends Friday to Sunday from June 6- June 23, 2014.

As an integral member of the team, you will report to the Controller.  This is a permanent part-time position (18 – 23 hours per week); specific working hours will be discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer accounts receivables including client invoicing and collection.
  • Administer accounts payable including cheque runs & credit card reconciliation.
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations.
  • Journal Entries.
  • HST filing and reconciliation.
  • Assist with Month End/Year End close and file preparation.
  • Monthly & Quarterly Reports.
  • Timesheet approvals.
  • Run monthly billing meeting with account teams.
  • Employee Vacation tracking.
  • Software Administration.
  • Payroll.
  • Workers Compensation filing and reconciliation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Qualifications:

  • An excellent knowledge of computer programs-specifically accounting related.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong multi-tasking capability.
  • Customer service skills both in person and on the phone.
